Anti-ADGRE1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein adhesion G protein-coupled receptor E1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 886 amino acid residues and a mass of 97.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 5 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the G-protein coupled receptor 2 protein family, ADGRE1 is known to be an orphan receptor involved in cell adhesion and probably in cell-cell interactions specifically involving cells of the immune system. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include TM7LN3, EGF-like module receptor 1, EGF-like module-containing mucin-like hormone receptor-like 1, EMR1 hormone receptor, and EMR1. ADGRE1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat and chimpanzee species.
