Anti-BT antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target BT is a known alias name of the protein butyrophilin subfamily 1 member A1, encoded by the BTN1A1 gene in humans. This 526-amino acid residue protein is believed to function in the secretion of milk-fat droplets. It is localized to the membrane and is secreted of the cell and features N-glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the lactating breast and placenta.
