Anti-NSUN6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein NOP2/Sun RNA methyltransferase 6. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 469 amino acid residues and a mass of 51.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. A member of a the RsmB/NOP protein family, NSUN6 is reported to be a S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent methyltransferase that specifically methylates the C5 position of cytosine 72 in tRNA(Thr)(TGT) and tRNA(Cys)(GCA). Synonyms for this target antigen include ARL5B antisense RNA 1, NOL1/NOP2/Sun and PUA domain-containing protein 1, NOL1/NOP2/Sun domain family, member 6, and tRNA (cytosine(72)-C(5))-methyltransferase NSUN6.
