Anti-Hic-5 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Hic-5 is a known alias name of the protein transforming growth factor beta 1 induced transcript 1, encoded by the TGFB1I1 gene in humans. This 461-amino acid residue protein is known to function as a molecular adapter coordinating multiple protein-protein interactions at the focal adhesion complex and in the nucleus. It is localized to the nucleus, cell junctions, and cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in platelets, smooth muscle and prostate stromal cells.
