Anti-LMC antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target LMC is a known alias name of the protein C-C motif chemokine ligand 16, encoded by the CCL16 gene in humans. This 120-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in cell to cell signaling and TNF-mediated cellular signaling pathways, among other biological processes. The protein is secreted and features post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be mainly expressed in the liver, also found in spleen and thymus. Other synonyms for LMC include CKb12, CKb12, and HCC-4. Western Blot is the most common application for the LMC antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
