Anti-PCA1 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The PCA1 antigen is another term for the human protein ectonucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase 1, encoded by the ENPP1 gene. The protein is reported to be a nucleotide pyrophosphatase that generates diphosphate (PPi) and functions in bone mineralization and soft tissue calcification by regulating pyrophosphate levels (By similarity). Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 925 residues and a mass of 104.9 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane and it is reported to be expressed in plasma cells and also in a number of non-lymphoid tissues, including the distal convoluted tubule of the kidney, chondrocytes and epididymis. The PCA1 protein is a member of the Nucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase protein family.
