Anti-PAEG antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PAEG antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PAEP gene, which encodes progestagen associated endometrial protein. This protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway, among other biological roles. The human version of PAEG has a canonical amino acid length of 180 residues and a protein mass of 20.6 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be a secreted protein that is notably expressed in the endometrium and placenta. Other names for this target antigen include GD, GdA, and GdF. Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for PAEG antibodies.
