Anti-UCP antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target UCP is a known alias name of the protein uncoupling protein 1, encoded by the UCP1 gene in humans. This 307-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in brown fat cell differentiation and the regulation of transcription, among other biological processes. It is localized to the mitochondria of the cell. The term SLC25A7 is another synonym for UCP. Some UCP antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
