Anti-MRPS36 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mitochondrial ribosomal protein S36. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 103 amino acid residues and a mass of 11.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. MRPS36 is believed to be necessary to recruit DLD/E3 to the mitochondrial 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex (OGDC) core composed of OGDH/E1-DLST/E2, hence stabilizes the complex. Synonyms for this target antigen include 28S ribosomal protein S36, mitochondrial, S36mt, and alpha-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase component 4. MRPS36 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Immunohistochemistry is the most common application for the Mrps36 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Western Blot are also common applications.
