Anti-GDF7 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein growth differentiation factor 7. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 450 amino acid residues and a mass of 47 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. A member of the TGF-beta protein family, GDF7 is believed to play an active role in the motor area of the primate neocortex. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. GDF7 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some GDF7 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
