Anti-NCS-1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the NCS-1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the NCS1 gene, which encodes neuronal calcium sensor 1. The human version of NCS-1 has a canonical amino acid length of 190 residues and a protein mass of 21.9 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane, Golgi, and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the bronchus and cerebellum. NCS-1 is a member of the Recoverin protein family.
