Anti-AFF3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ALF transcription elongation factor 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1226 amino acid residues and a mass of 133.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is found to be highly expressed in lymphoid tissues, highest levels being found in the thymus. A member of the AF4 protein family, AFF3 is known to be involved with the regulation of gene expression. The AFF3 gene has been associated with the disease, KINSSHIP syndrome. Synonyms for this target antigen include LAF4, MLLT2-like, AF4/FMR2 family member 3, MLLT2-related protein, lymphoid nuclear protein 4, and KINS. AFF3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the AFF3 antibodies listed below. Immunocytochemistry and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
