Anti-CAR antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CAR antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CASR gene, which encodes calcium sensing receptor. This protein is known to function in the morphogenesis of anatomical structure and the apoptotic pathway, among other biological roles. The human version of CAR has a canonical amino acid length of 1078 residues and a protein mass of 120.7 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in the parathyroid gland, pancreas, and kidney. CAR is a member of the G-protein coupled receptor 3 protein family.
