Anti-ASCT1 antibodies detect the protein encoded by the gene SLC1A4, or 'solute carrier family 1 member 4' in humans. The 532-amino acid protein is a member of the Dicarboxylate/amino acid:cation symporter (DAACS) (TC 2.A.23) family, SLC1A4 subfamily. The cellular localization is predicted to be membrane-associated. Glycosylation sites have been reported.
