Anti-MAP1 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The MAP1 antigen is another term for the human protein MBL associated serine protease 1, encoded by the MASP1 gene. The protein is reported to function in the lectin pathway of complement, which performs a key role in innate immunity by recognizing pathogens through patterns of sugar moieties and neutralizing them. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 699 residues and a mass of 79.2 kilodaltons. It is a secreted protein. The MAP1 protein is a member of the Peptidase S1 protein family.
