Anti-GCKR antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein glucokinase regulator. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 625 amino acid residues and a mass of 68.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus, mitochondria, and cytoplasm. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. A member of a the GCKR protein family, GCKR is reported to regulate glucokinase (GCK) by forming an inactive complex with this enzyme. Synonyms for this target antigen include GKRP, glucokinase regulatory protein, glucokinase (hexokinase 4) regulator, hexokinase 4 regulator, and FGQTL5.
