Anti-CRYBA2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein crystallin beta A2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 197 amino acid residues and a mass of 22.1 kDa. It is notably expressed in the eye. A member of the Beta/gamma-crystallin protein family, CRYBA2 is known to be involved with eye development. The CRYBA2 gene has been associated with the disease, Cataracts. Synonyms for this target antigen include beta-crystallin A2, eye lens structural protein, and CTRCT42. CRYBA2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is a widely used application for the Cryba2 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
