Anti-MYO3A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein myosin IIIA. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1616 amino acid residues and a mass of 186.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in retina, retinal pigment epithelial cells, cochlea and pancreas. A member of the STE Ser/Thr protein kinase protein family, MYO3A is a suspected actin-based motor with a protein kinase activity. The MYO3A gene has been associated with the disease, Deafness. Synonyms for this target antigen include DFNB30 and epididymis secretory sperm binding protein. MYO3A gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. ELISA is the most common application for the MYO3A antibodies listed below. Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
