Anti-Glutaminyl-peptide cyclotransferase antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene QPCT in humans. The gene may also be known as QC, GCT, sQC, EC, and glutaminyl cyclase. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 40.9 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, plant, fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
