Anti-HMX2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein H6 family homeobox 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 273 amino acid residues and a mass of 29.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. It is notably expressed in many tissues, such as the duodenum, stomach, and colon. A member of the HMX homeobox protein family, HMX2 is a reported transcription factor involved in specification of neuronal cell types and which is required for inner ear and hypothalamus development. Synonyms for this target antigen include Nkx5-2, homeobox protein HMX2, homeo box (H6 family) 2, homeobox protein H6 family member 2, and H6L. HMX2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some HMX2 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. ELISA and Western Blot are common applications for these antibodies.
