Anti-Trk antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target Trk is a known alias name of the protein neurotrophic receptor tyrosine kinase 1, encoded by the NTRK1 gene in humans. This 796-amino acid residue protein is a known receptor tyrosine kinase involved in the development and the maturation of the central and peripheral nervous systems through regulation of proliferation, differentiation and survival of sympathetic and nervous neurons. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features N-glycosylated, ubiquitinated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the cerebral cortex and testis.
