Anti-HTD2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein hydroxyacyl-thioester dehydratase type 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 168 amino acid residues and a mass of 18.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. It is reported to be highly expressed in the heart and liver. It is a member of the HTD2 protein family. Synonyms for this target antigen include 3-hydroxyacyl-[acyl-carrier-protein] dehydratase, and hydroxyacyl-thioester dehydratase type 2, mitochondrial. HTD2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chicken species.
