Anti-MTCH1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mitochondrial carrier 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 389 amino acid residues and a mass of 41.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be widely expressed with a predominant expression in the brain. A member of the Mitochondrial carrier (TC 2.A.29) protein family, MTCH1 is reported to be a protein insertase that mediates insertion of transmembrane proteins into the mitochondrial outer membrane. Synonyms for this target antigen include PIG60, PSAP, SLC25A49, mitochondrial carrier homolog 1, cell proliferation-inducing protein 60, and CGI-64. MTCH1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some MTCH1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. These antibodies are most commonly used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
