Anti-Beta-2-microglobulin antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene B2M in humans. The Beta-2-microglobulin protein has a reported amino acid length of 119 and an expected mass of 13.7 kDa. The protein may also be known as beta2-microglobulin, IMD43, beta chain of MHC class I molecules, and beta-2-microglobin. Variants of this antigen may also be found in other species, including canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat.
