Anti-LPP antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein LIM domain containing preferred translocation partner in lipoma. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 612 amino acid residues and a mass of 65.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane, nucleus, extracellular matrix, and cytoplasm. It is reported to be expressed in a wide variety of tissues but no or very low expression in the brain and peripheral leukocytes. A member of a the Zyxin/ajuba protein family, LPP is believed to play a structural role at sites of cell adhesion in maintaining cell shape and motility. Synonyms for this target antigen include LIM protein, lipoma preferred partner, and lipoma-preferred partner.
