Anti-CRYGC antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein crystallin gamma C. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 174 amino acid residues and a mass of 20.9 kDa. It is notably expressed in the eye. A member of the Beta/gamma-crystallin protein family, CRYGC is known to be involved with eye development. The CRYGC gene has been associated with the disease, Cataracts. Synonyms for this target antigen include CRYG3, CTRCT2, gamma-crystallin C, gamma-crystallin 2-1, gamma-crystallin 3, and CCL. CRYGC gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse and rat species. Some CRYGC antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunofluorescence is also a common application.
