Anti-CCN1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cellular communication network factor 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 381 amino acid residues and a mass of 42 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. A member of the CCN protein family, CCN1 is reported to promote cell proliferation, chemotaxis, angiogenesis and cell adhesion. The CCN1 marker can be used to identify Gray Matter CA1-3 Neurons and Corticomedullary Thymic Epithelial Cells.* Synonyms for this target antigen include CYR61 and GIG1. CCN1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
