Anti-RasGRP antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target RasGRP is a known alias name of the protein RAS guanyl releasing protein 1, encoded by the RASGRP1 gene in humans. This 797-amino acid residue protein is known to function as a calcium- and diacylglycerol (DAG)-regulated nucleotide exchange factor specifically activating Ras through the exchange of bound GDP for GTP. It is localized to the cell membrane, ER, Golgi, and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in the brain with higher expression in cerebellum, cerebral cortex and amygdala. Other synonyms for RasGRP include CALDAG-GEFI, CALDAG-GEFII, and IMD64.
