Anti-SPSB1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein splA/ryanodine receptor domain and SOCS box containing 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 273 amino acid residues and a mass of 30.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. A member of the SPSB protein family, SPSB1 is reported to be a substrate recognition component of a SCF-like ECS (Elongin BC-CUL2/5-SOCS-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex which mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. Synonyms for this target antigen include SPRY domain-containing SOCS box protein SSB-1, novel SPRY domain containing protein, and SPRY domain-containing SOCS box protein 1. SPSB1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. These SPSB1 antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
