Anti-MRPL48 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein mitochondrial ribosomal protein L48. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 212 amino acid residues and a mass of 23.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Mitochondrion-specific ribosomal protein mL48 protein family, MRPL48 is known to be involved with mitochondrial translation. Synonyms for this target antigen include HSPC290, L48MT, 39S ribosomal protein L48, mitochondrial, mitochondrial large ribosomal subunit protein mL48, and CGI-118. MRPL48 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of MRPL48 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
