Anti-RPL18A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein ribosomal protein L18a. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 176 amino acid residues and a mass of 20.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the Eukaryotic ribosomal protein eL20 protein family, RPL18A is a known component of the large ribosomal subunit. Synonyms for this target antigen include eL20, 60S ribosomal protein L18a, large ribosomal subunit protein eL20, ribosomal protein L18a-like protein, and L18A. RPL18A gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of RPL18A antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
