Anti-PDS5A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein PDS5 cohesin associated factor A. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1337 amino acid residues and a mass of 150.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is reported to be highly expressed in colon. A member of the PDS5 protein family, PDS5A is a suspected regulator of sister chromatid cohesion in mitosis which may stabilize cohesin complex association with chromatin. Synonyms for this target antigen include SCC-112, SCC112, sister chromatid cohesion protein PDS5 homolog A, PDS5, regulator of cohesion maintenance, homolog A, cell proliferation-inducing gene 54 protein, and PIG54. PDS5A gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of PDS5A antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunofluorescence are also common applications.
