The gene may also be known as DR4, DRB4, HLA-DR4B, HLA class II histocompatibility antigen, DR beta 4 chain, and MHC class II antigen DRB4. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 29.9 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, monkey orthologs may also be found.
