Anti-HSP73 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The HSP73 antigen is another term for the human protein heat shock protein family A (Hsp70) member 8, encoded by the HSPA8 gene. The protein is known to be a molecular chaperone implicated in a wide variety of cellular processes, including protection of the proteome from stress, folding and transport of newly synthesized polypeptides, chaperone-mediated autophagy, activation of proteolysis of misfolded proteins and the formation and dissociation of protein complexes. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 646 residues and a mass of 70.9 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane, nucleus, lysosomes and cytoplasm and it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. The HSP73 protein is a member of the Heat shock protein 70 protein family. Other alias names for HSP73 include HEL-33, HEL-S-72p, and HSC54. Over 80 citations in the literature describe the use of HSP73 antibodies in research. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
