Anti-CAT1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CAT1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CRAT gene, which encodes carnitine O-acetyltransferase. This protein is known to function in metabolic processes, among other biological roles. The human version of CAT1 has a canonical amino acid length of 626 residues and a protein mass of 70.9 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria and ER of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. This target antigen may also be known as CAT.
