Anti-PCL antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PCL is a known alias name of the protein polycystin 2 like 1, transient receptor potential cation channel, encoded by the PKD2L1 gene in humans. This 805-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a pore-forming subunit of a heterotetrameric, non-selective cation channel that is permeable to Ca(2+). It is localized to the cell projections and cell membrane of the cell and features palmitoylated and glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in taste bud cells in fungiform papillae.
