Anti-EHHADH antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein enoyl-CoA hydratase and 3-hydroxyacyl CoA dehydrogenase. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 723 amino acid residues and a mass of 79.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the peroxisomes. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in the kidney and liver. It is a member of the Enoyl-CoA hydratase/isomerase protein family; 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase protein family. Post-translational modifications have been described, including acetylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include FRTS3, L-PBE, LBFP, LBP, MFE1, PBFE, peroxisomal bifunctional enzyme, and ECHD. EHHADH gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of EHHADH antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
