Anti-PCSK3 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PCSK3 is a known alias name of the protein furin, paired basic amino acid cleaving enzyme, encoded by the FURIN gene in humans. This 794-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in extracellular matrix organization, among other biological processes. It is localized to the Golgi, cell membrane, and is secreted of the cell and features glycosylated, cleaved and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for PCSK3 include FUR and PACE. Some PCSK3 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
