Anti-KRT75 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein keratin 75. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 551 amino acid residues and a mass of 59.6 kDa. It is reported to be highly expressed in hair follicles from scalp. A member of the Intermediate filament protein family, KRT75 is known to play an important role in hair and nail formation. The KRT75 gene has been associated with the disease, Loose anagen hair syndrome. Synonyms for this target antigen include K6HF, K75, KB18, PFB, hK6hf, keratin, type II cytoskeletal 75, cytokeratin type II, and CK-75. KRT75 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Some KRT75 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
