Anti-G24 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the G24 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the LACTB gene, which encodes lactamase beta. This protein is known to function in the metabolism of lipids and proteolysis, among other biological roles. The human version of G24 has a canonical amino acid length of 547 residues and a protein mass of 60.7 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. G24 is a member of the Peptidase S12 protein family.
