Anti-Msh homeobox 2 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene MSX2 in humans. The gene may also be known as CRS2, FPP, HOX8, homeobox protein MSX-2, and homeobox protein Hox-8. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 28.9 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
