Anti-Activation induced cytidine deaminase antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene AICDA in humans. The gene may also be known as AID, ARP2, CDA2, HEL-S-284, single-stranded DNA cytosine deaminase, and cytidine aminohydrolase. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 24 kilodaltons in mass. The AICDA marker can be used to identify Centroblasts, Monocytoid B Cells, and Germinal Center B Cells.* Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
