Anti-FAM3A antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein FAM3 metabolism regulating signaling molecule A. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 230 amino acid residues and a mass of 25.2 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the FAM3 protein family, FAM3A is believed to act as a defensin against invading fungal microorganisms. Synonyms for this target antigen include cytokine-like protein 2-19, family with sequence similarity 3 member A, and protein FAM3A. FAM3A gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat and bovine species. Some FAM3A antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
