Anti-MSP23 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target MSP23 is a known alias name of the protein peroxiredoxin 1, encoded by the PRDX1 gene in humans. This 199-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a thiol-specific peroxidase that catalyzes the reduction of hydrogen peroxide and organic hydroperoxides to water and alcohols, respectively. It is localized to the cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. The term NKEF-A is another synonym for MSP23. Western Blot is a widely used application for the MSP23 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
