Anti-DAP3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein death associated protein 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 398 amino acid residues and a mass of 45.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 3 different isoforms for this protein. It is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types. A member of a the Mitochondrion-specific ribosomal protein mS29 protein family, DAP3 is known to be involved in mediating interferon-gamma-induced cell death. Synonyms for this target antigen include MRPS29, S29mt, bMRP-10, 28S ribosomal protein S29, mitochondrial, and MRP-S29.
