Anti-BRST-2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the BRST-2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PIP gene, which encodes prolactin induced protein. This protein is known to function in the regulation of gene expression and proteolysis, among other biological roles. The human version of BRST-2 has a canonical amino acid length of 146 residues and a protein mass of 16.6 kilodaltons. It is reported to be a secreted protein that is notably expressed in the breast and salivary gland. BRST-2 is a member of the PIP protein family.
