Anti-PCI antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PCI is a known alias name of the protein serpin family A member 5, encoded by the SERPINA5 gene in humans. This 406-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in the metabolism of lipids and spermatogenesis, among other biological processes. The protein is secreted and features O-glycosylated, N-glycosylated and cleaved post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be highly expressed in the the epithelium of seminal vesicles. Other synonyms for PCI include PAI-3, PAI-3, and PAI3. These PCI antibodies are widely used in Western Blot experiments, among other applications.
