Anti-Ulp1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Ulp1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SENP3 gene, which encodes SUMO specific peptidase 3. This protein is a reported protease that releases SUMO2 and SUMO3 monomers from sumoylated substrates, but has only weak activity against SUMO1 conjugates. The human version of Ulp1 has a canonical amino acid length of 574 residues and a protein mass of 65 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the bronchus, vagina, and adrenal gland. Other names for this target antigen include SMT3IP1 and SSP3. Western Blot is a widely used application for the Ulp1 antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
