Anti-STXBP2 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein syntaxin binding protein 2. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 593 amino acid residues and a mass of 66.5 kDa. Up to 3 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably expressed in many tissues, such as the bronchus, urinary bladder, and breast. A member of the STXBP/unc-18/SEC1 protein family, STXBP2 is known to be involved in intracellular vesicle trafficking and vesicle fusion with membranes. The STXBP2 gene has been associated with the disease, Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis. Synonyms for this target antigen include Hunc18b, MUNC18-2, UNC18-2, UNC18B, pp10122, unc-18B, protein unc-18 homolog B, and FHL5. STXBP2 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish and chimpanzee species. A number of STXBP2 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
