Anti-SCOTIN antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the SCOTIN antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SHISA5 gene, which encodes shisa family member 5. This protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway and NF-kappaB signaling pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of SCOTIN has a canonical amino acid length of 240 residues and a protein mass of 25.6 kilodaltons, although 5 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and ER of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. SCOTIN is a member of the Shisa protein family.
